To the Editor: We would like to thank you for the opportunity to respond to the issues raised in the letter by Dr Uribe-Cardenas 1 and to clarify aspects of our surgical technique in relation to these concerns. We would also like to thank Dr Uribe-Cardenas and his colleagues at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for their interest in our paper and for taking time to express their concerns. In his letter to the editor, Dr Uribe-Cardenas points out that the risk of sudden death related to colloid cysts is uncommon in superiorly recessed cysts. However, in our experience, no matter how infrequent this risk is, it is still to be considered. In fact, we have 1 case of sudden death in our case series. Dr Uribe-Cardenas and Dr Souweidane explain the importance of preoperatory planning of the access point to perform the endoscopic procedure.
